The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for an Imaging and Desktop Specialist at our National Center office. The position can be located anywhere within the United States.

The primary responsibility of the Imaging and Desktop Specialist in the Desktop and Messaging Management department is to provide office imaging equipment standards and management with secondary responsibility for desktop scripting, reporting, and client image support. Responsibilities include supporting the development of strategies, framework, and gathering, documenting and managing AHA business requirements for a successful office imaging equipment management and implementation. Additionally, they partner with the assigned Affiliate staff and the Managers of Affiliate Technology Services to identify the business requirements and opportunities. This position works closely with all other departments within Enterprise Infrastructure and Applications and Field Operations departments (facility) to insure quality planning and delivery of office imaging equipment across the Association. They will be integral part of the Desktop and Messaging Management team in identifying solutions and services to meet the business needs.

Here are some of the essential job duties:

  • Performs daily administration and operational support for office imaging technology.

  • Performs complete life-cycle management of office imaging equipment from procurement to retirement.

  • Manages vendor relationship, negotiates and manages contracts, and assists with billing activities.

  • Collaborates and consults with Business Technology staff, Managers of Affiliate Technology Services, Affiliate Operations/Facilities, and business departments to insure successful delivery of office imaging technology

  • Assists, serves on teams or serves as project lead and/or business analyst for office imaging equipment implementation as appropriate.

  • Creates/maintains scripts (programs) and reports for Desktop processes. Provides client image support.

  • Leads and/or participates in Desktop and Messaging Management projects as needed.

  • Creates and maintains project plans with associated resource and scheduling requirements. Monitors project activities to completion to ensure adherence with project plan, scope and budget.

  • Establishes office imaging equipment (i.e. copier, printer and fax) standards.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or equivalent education or experience.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in information technology.

  • Strong teamwork, planning, and organizational skills.

  • Project/Logistics management experience.

  • Experience in providing IT support for multiple remote sites with demonstrated customer service accomplishments.

  • Experience with office imaging equipment life-cycle management (procurement/support/retirement).

  • Vendor and contract management experience.

  • Proven ability to research options and recommend standards for office imaging equipment provisioning and management.

  • Experience in creating/maintaining scripts for IT configuration management.
