The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Manager Healthcare Quality Measures in our National Center office located in Dallas, TX (remote/home based is acceptable) .

The Manager Healthcare Quality Measures will work with all facets of our Quality Improvement and Health IT staff and external volunteers and strategic partners to provide meaningful information related to our healthcare quality improvement programs.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Develop and update quality metrics, quality measures, converting volunteer quality improvement concepts and evidence into actionable plans and products

  • Assist quality improvement/research staff in the creation of an annual quality agenda to define the organization’s opportunities and proposed areas of focus

  • Serves as a frequent liaison between our quality improvement and advocacy departments

  • Collaborate closely with staff to execute the organization’s quality strategy with the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and other healthcare quality organizations

  • Assist in positively positioning the AHA/ASA in the performance measures and Pay for Performance domains

  • Support the AHA/ASA’s work on national activities involving other healthcare quality organizations/agencies

  • Execute or co-lead appropriate demonstration projects

Required Experience

  • Master’s in Public Health (MPH), health informatics, measure science or other related degree

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in quality measurement, knowledge of measures and e measures is a must

  • Prior Project Management experience

  • Ability to take high level information and make relatable for the entire Quality and Health IT team

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with all team members, management and volunteers

  • Must have the ability to travel overnight up to 15% of the time

Here are some of the preferred skills we are looking for:

  • Experience in Health informatics is desirable

  • Clinical background is preferred
