The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a National Multicultural Consultant to help drive our health impact and revenue goals . Note: Location for the selected candidate is flexible, provided the location allows for efficient and cost effective travel as required by this position. The National Multicultural Consultant will serve as the Community Health team liaison to Multicultural Field Staff; this will include advising, tracking, and reporting field activities. The most essential function of this role will be collaborating with National Center and Field staff to inform, communicate, and support execution of strategies that align with team and organizational goals. This will include gathering and analyzing data, facilitating and ensuring the flow of essential information between the field and national center, and identifying and helping address technical assistance needs in the field. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate communication among affiliates in order to ensure the sharing of best practices and lessons learned while also developing and implementing strategies to keep the broader organization apprised of all field activities and progress.

  • Recognize and identify local partnerships that can be elevated to a national level to work alongside the AHA to create a sustainable culture of health for all by transforming community environments, enhancing the chain of survival and increasing healthy living behaviors

  • Build strategies to assist the field in driving health impact, revenue, and engagement while also managing the tracking and reporting of progress against those goals

  • Manage the flow of communication between multicultural field staff and national center staff.

  • Consult on, develop, and support implementation of fundraising strategies

Required Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Public Health, Public Policy, Business or other related degree

  • 7-10 years of experience with consulting skills within a national organization and to remote district/field channels

  • Experience in advancing health equity and reducing health disparities

  • Understanding of multicultural insights and applications

  • Excellent oral and written skills

  • Strong verbal presentation skills

  • Proven solution oriented experience to drive scale and capacity

  • Ability to travel at least 50%
