The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Target BP Program Coordinator that will be based in Bonita Springs, FL . The primary focus for this position will be related to implementation of blood pressure focused initiatives within clinics that support’s the AHA’s Blood Pressure Control strategic plan. This is a grant funded, part time (20/hrs. per week or less) position scheduled to last no longer than 6/30/2017.

NOTE: This is a work out of your home position that requires daily travel throughout the designated territory.

The Target BP Program Coordinator will develop and implement a robust market plan to increase enrollment and active involvement with our national Target: BP Program. This program is a call to action motivating hospitals, medical practices, practitioners and health services organizations to prioritize blood pressure control. Healthcare providers will be recruited to join the program and work within their systems to increase their control rates for HBP patients to 70% or better.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Work with clinics to Implement the AHA Target BP Program;

  • Review data collected from various sources, collaborate with clinical teams on quality and process improvement recommendations to improve performance;

  • Identify, cultivate and manage relationships with clinic accounts, and other key healthcare stakeholder activities with regards to blood pressure control processes;

  • Work with clinical teams (Physicians, Nurses, Quality Improvement, etc.) on quality and process improvement initiatives, specifically with regards to blood pressure;

  • Engage and educate the medical community with regards to blood pressure resources (coordinate and facilitate market workshops, trainings, teleconferences, etc.);

  • Build meaningful volunteer partnerships to advance the mission of the AHA.

Required Experience

Qualified candidates are highly motivated to further the mission of the American Heart Association and possess the following skills, education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in health education, education, health administration, public health, health science, business or related field or equivalent experience.

  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills.

  • Ability to productively participate in a multi-disciplinary team environment and manage large projects ensuring deadline compliance with minimal supervision

  • Highly effective organization, multi-tasking, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to conduct meetings with internal staff and volunteers including interacting with external partners/sponsors representing AHA to the public as necessary

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate daily with staff from various teams

  • Ability to work , as needed, outside standard business hours and travel within territory served, and daily commuting to key areas of Palm Beach, key business meetings at the Bonita Springs, FL office as needed and commuting to the surrounding area, for business appointment, meetings and engagements.
