We have an excellent opportunity for a Heart Walk Consultant. This position may be located anywhere within the 11-state region of the Midwest Affiliate that permits for efficient and cost effective travel (within an hour of a metropolitan airport). Preferred location would be Chicago, Kansas City or St. Louis.
This position is responsible for providing direct field consultation to targeted markets in the Midwest Affiliate to drive best practice and benchmark-level results, and is directly accountable for field campaign derived from Heart Walk. Works with staff implementers and managers to plan, execute and assess Heart Walk campaign and sponsorship initiatives. Actively travels in local markets working hand-in-hand with staff and volunteers. Serves as the affiliate lead on Heart Walk campaign communications and strategies.
Other responsibilities include:
Provides training, consultation, and support to Heart Walk staff in targeted markets throughout the Midwest Affiliate.
Accountable for field campaign income derived from the Heart Walk fundraising event and Healthy For Good platform sponsorship opportunities.
Travels into markets to perform gap meetings, assessments and regular follow up with staff, managers and volunteers.
Ensures staff throughout affiliate receive up-to-date communication on best practices, current strategies and updated national campaign information.
Works in partnership with development operations to ensure accurate reporting and data analysis.
Works in conjunction with national Heart Walk staff to ensure a cohesive Heart Walk campaign plan is produced, executed and assessed.
Provides ongoing training to staff for Heart Walk and Healthy For Good Campaigns.

Bachelor’s or some college plus experience. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred. College coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree. Related experience may be substituted as follows: 1 ½ years experience equates to 1 full-time year of higher education.
Must have at least four years of experience in fundraising, outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity. This experience may also count towards satisfying this position’s educational requirement.
Minimum two years of management experience.
Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct meetings, producing necessary outcomes through a thorough, collaborative group process.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple major projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently.
Experience developing and delivering training presentations for group and one-to-one settings.
Experience assessing and improving staff performance.
Broad knowledge of fundraising methods and techniques. Knowledge of sales, community organization and marketing principles, practices, techniques, and trends. Proven success using best practices.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including large and small group presentations, group facilitation, and training. Skill in written communications to include clear and concise narrative reports, evaluations and similar narrative pieces.
Ability to read, comprehend and analyze number goals, as well as fundraising reports. Skill in use of spreadsheet/database analysis.
Ability to do travel up to 60%, work evenings and weekends as needed.
Must have at least basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office 2010 or higher used for word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds with the expectation that items in excess of 20 pounds would be broken down into smaller components or additional assistance is required before lifting and/or moving.
