The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Contract Administrator in our National Center office located in Dallas, TX . The Senior Contract Administrator will manage assigned contract activity with moderate to high risk to the business units. Activity may be non-routine and require development of specialized contract techniques to accomplish business goals and objectives. Additional responsibilities include:

Essential Job Duties:

  • Responsible for all government contract requirements and establishing protocol for sub contracts that use Government Grant funds.

  • Interface with mid-level to executive level project professionals in review and preparation of routine and non-routine solicitation and contract documents in accordance with corporate policy.

  • Review simple to complex solicitations and prepare specialized and/or non-routine response for proposals, bids and contract amendments or modifications.

  • Train and develop end-users to assume complete contract functions.

  • Analyze significant, and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws/regulations, corporate policies and business unit procedure.

  • Establish and maintain internal stakeholder relationships in terms of sourcing projects, contract needs, and supplier management.

  • Develop recommendations for supplier management decisions through analysis of reports, supplier spend tracking and reviewing purchase order/invoice payments

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Contract Management, Operations Management, Business Administration or a related field.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in contract negotiations, contract management, and supply management in a corporate environment.

  • Prior experience writing/drafting/reviewing contract terms and conditions that range from standard agreements to multi-level complex services.

  • Project Management experience.

  • Demonstrated understanding and the ability to guiding staff on Government Grant contracting processes.

  • Great customer service skill with the ability to interaction with all levels of Association.

  • Experience with MS Office, SharePoint, Contract management systems, and Oracle/JD Edwards.

Here are some of the preferred skills we are looking for:

  • MBA or other related advanced degree.

  • Professional certification such as C.P.M., C.P.S.M., C.P.C.M. or other certification related to the field of purchasing or contract management.
