The American Heart Association (AHA) has an exciting new opportunity for Sr. Manager, Business Intelligence Development in our National Center office located in Dallas, TX.

The primary responsibility of the Sr. Manager, Business Intelligence Development is to lead the development of new and evolving business intelligence and data analysis capabilities for the association. Partnering with all business units within AHA and the related program managers, this manager will bring forward start-of-the-art BI solution options and align these with strategies and programs do drive donor retention and public engagement with the AHA. The manager will lead a team of data technology professionals to design and deliver solutions and manage their operations and support.

Here are some of the essential job duties:

  • Meet with business partners to understand data analysis needs and propose solutions

  • Plan and oversee support activities related to ETL, applications, and data management

  • Work with PMO and Strategists, develop medium and long-term roadmap for data analytics capabilities

  • Recruit, retain, and mentor staff. Track team progress on project deliverables and inform PMO staff on progress and obstacles

  • Participates in the AHA annual planning process providing resource allocation information, high-level project estimates and technical guidance to the appropriate audience

  • Manage associated 3rd party vendor relationships. Also manage activities with complete integrity and in accordance with AHA policies, systems, practices and programs

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer Science or Computer Information Systems

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with data architecture and database design. As well as experience with the Microsoft family of data products including SQL Server, SSRS, and SSIS

  • Strong experience with a variety of traditional reporting tools such as Cognos or Business Objects

  • At least two (2) years’ experience with in-memory data visualization tools such as Tableau

  • Advanced SQL data manipulation skills

  • Must be able to travel up to 1% of the time

Required Experience

Here are some of the preferred skills we are looking for:

  • Knowledge of, or experience with, Informatica ETL products, Master Data Management product, or NoSQL database technologies

  • At least one (1) year of experience with cloud platform data and analytics services such as Amazon Redshift

  • Knowledge of .Net development preferably with C#
