The American Heart Association (AHA) has a great opportunity for a Regional QSI (Quality and Systems Improvement) Director, International! In this role, the Director for the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region identifies, develops and manages relationships with hospitals and other key stakeholders in using Get With The Guidelines to improve quality of care for heart disease and stroke patients. The director serves as a consultant, business developer, educator, and account manager in securing new and maintain existing relationships with hospitals and health systems to maximize their engagement in the AHA suite of Quality Improvement programs. The director will also work with Ministry of Health in each country, our sister societies and other key stakeholders in the region to ensure that AHA quality improvement initiatives are a key priority within their organizations.

Identify, cultivate and manage relationships with hospital and health system accounts, and other key healthcare stakeholder activities with regards to quality improvement. This will include but not be limited to coordinate and conduct Get With The Guidelines engagement activities for all hospitals in the market; implementation and quality improvement consulting; hospital visits to meet with multidisciplinary teams; conduct report review to highlight progress toward Recognition; presentation of Recognition Certificates; market and promote QI program offerings; all within the context of cultural sensitivity to the Middle East region.

Engage and educate the medical community with regards to AHA quality improvement initiatives with attention to the recognition program for the hospitals utilizing GWTG in the region acknowledging their efforts and promote their success and drive satisfaction. Assist in the development of communications and publications demonstrating the success of the GWTG program in the region.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ability to facilitate the identification, recruitment and selection of appropriate volunteers to lead the board and committee activities required to drive results in achieving the mission and strategic objectives of AHA

  • Ability to communicate, build relationships, gain trust and effectively work with and through volunteers

  • Ability to train and develop volunteers

  • Ability to complete succession planning for key volunteer position

  • Ability to communicate strategic direction and provide consultation to volunteer committees and Board members

  • Ability to inspire change through volunteers

  • Ability to measure and increase engagement and motivation of volunteers at all levels

  • Ability to effectively assess and leverage volunteer skill sets and interests by developing and utilizing volunteer roles in meaningful ways

  • Ability to proactively and effectively communicate across diverse audience of volunteers

  • Ability to instill spirit and feeling of belonging with volunteers

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • At least five (5) years of relevant experience

  • Demonstrated understanding of patient care and/or clinical quality or process improvement management in an acute care hospital

  • Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate data in the healthcare environment

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

  • Ability to use Microsoft products, computer software, run reports, maintain accurate data and learn new software applications.

  • Ability to plan and conduct meetings and trainings

  • Ability to travel within the MENA region to provide training sessions and related consulting activity for QI program implementation

Preferred Experience:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse preferred or similar allied health provider

  • CPHQ or like Certification preferred
