The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Development (Fundraising) Director, Heart Walk in the Orange County Division based in Irvine. As the Senior Director you lead a staff and volunteer team that is responsible for the overall planning, management and implementation of the Heart Walk campaign with an overall net revenue goal of $2.2M .

Essential Job Duties:

  • Manages the Orange County Heart Walk Campaign through driving to AHA best practices to achieve the overall net fundraising goal of $2.2M.

  • Leads and actively participates in the identification, cultivation, solicitation and management of corporate sponsors and corporate and community involvement.

  • Manages a high performing team of Development Directors and Coordinator towards achieving established goals and outcomes.

  • Drives the ongoing process of identifying, recruiting and activating an influential, financially strong and inclusive volunteer leadership base for sustained campaign support.

  • Develops and implements year-round pipelines and cultivation plans for corporate accounts.

  • Manages the coordination of the of the Heart Walk event in accordance with expense and event guidelines. Ensures effective and efficient method for tracking event volunteer recruitment and event results.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 3-5 years successful experience in fundraising, outside sales or marketing

  • Ability to accomplish results through strong volunteer recruitment, training, and management

  • Ability to delegate and accomplish goal through staff and volunteers.

  • Highly effective organizational, communication, negotiations and interpersonal skills. Detail oriented and ability to multi-task

  • Self-starter able to work well in a team driven environment

  • Knowledge of AHA’s mission and programs

  • Ability to delegate and accomplish goals through volunteers.

  • Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends as needed (10-15 face to face meeting weekly)
