The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a proven sales representative to fill the Heart Walk Director position for our Orlando, FL market . This candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with AHA corporate partners, community leaders and collaborating with internal staff to maximize fundraising efforts. Accountable for driving revenue, managing top corporate accounts and selling sponsorships and recruiting volunteer leadership for one of our major events, the annual Heart Walk

Responsibilities Include :

  • Setting and meeting aggressive fundraising goals of 625K(+)

  • Securing corporate sponsorships and individual donations

  • Recruiting and coaching volunteers and Executive Cabinet members

  • Interacting with “C” suite individuals

  • Daily travel throughout the assigned territory

Required Experience

BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.

Ideal candidate will have 3+ years of prior outside sales or professional fundraising experience.

Must have a successful track record of meeting and exceeding goals and expectations, along with demonstrated negotiation and motivation skills. Preference will be given to local candidates.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in outside sales position or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity that involves building and maintaining sales relationship.

  • Possess strong selling and negotiation skills.

  • Daily travel in the Orlando area up to 75%

  • Knowledge and demonstrated ability to successfully identify, cultivate, recruit, and maintain relationships with top level volunteers from identified companies.

  • Proven ability to understand and navigate corporate cultures to achieve goals.

  • Skill in effective oral communications including conversing by telephone and conducting presentations to large and small groups.

  • Skill in effective written communications, including business writing, clear and concise narrative reports, evaluations and other narrative pieces.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and interact with all levels of AHA staff, volunteers and the public.

  • Ability to develop long-term and short-term goals, follow them through and develop performance objectives to support them.

  • Ability to conceptualize, reason through problems, make effective decisions and develop alternative solutions.

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, maintain timelines, and stay very organized.

  • Ability to use Microsoft products, computer software, run reports and maintain accurate data.

  • Ability and willingness to work irregular hours and attend meetings beyond the framework of the normal working schedule.

  • Valid driver's license, proof of at least minimum state required automobile liability insurance and ability and willingness to travel as position demands.
