The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Corporate Health Engagement Director in our Midwest Affiliate office located in St. Louis, MO . This position’s main focus is cultivating meaningful relationships between the AHA and corporation’s by identifying collaborative opportunities. These opportunities are mutually beneficial in that they advance the AHA’s mission and goals by aligning AHA priority initiatives with the needs of the company in the areas of building a Culture of Health for employees and engaging employees in volunteerism.

This position will not have direct fund raising responsibility but will work closely with the fundraising staff in the market to cultivate a deeper engagement with companies which translates into increased support. The position will be responsible for executing specific engagement outcomes, directing employee health outcomes and driving volunteer development outcomes.

Essential Job Duties

  • Partner with the Executive Director, Development Team/Event Directors and Senior Community Health Director to:

  • Identify and work in tandem with the top companies a wellness/health and volunteerism perspective.

  • Work with the C-Suite and targeted corporate leaders to identify the largest employee wellness/health improvement opportunity within the identified companies based on AHA priorities.

  • Partner collaboratively with AHA market staff to drive integration of the AHA’s tools and resources targeting the workplace.

  • Provide tools and support to the company and partner with them in implementing, tracking and reporting on wellness/health improvements made within company (through presentations).

  • Serve as the AHA liaison for each of the identified companies and appropriate market staff to deepen relationships throughout the company and identify volunteer opportunities that align with AHA’s strategy as well as the companies’ objectives in order to link the company leadership to more active volunteer roles within AHA.

  • Work closely with company leadership and AHA staff partners on strategies for deepening engagement across wellness/health, volunteerism and revenue.

  • Serving as AHA liaison to worksite coalition partnerships in the market.

Required Experience

  • BS/BA required, with three years proven success in fundraising, corporate engagement, and executive relationship development.

  • Knowledge of corporate wellness strategies to develop a culture of health that will support the improvement of employee health and related financial health costs.

  • Interact effectively with high level corporate executives, community leaders, and volunteers.

  • Manage and motivate diverse groups and individuals, and work successfully as a leader in a team environment.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Develop and manage corporate related events and volunteer committee meetings.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to collaborate within fundraising and program staff in order to develop appropriate plans to set and meet employer goals.

  • Broad knowledge of the overall structure, programs, and services of the American Heart Association including policies and procedures.

  • Strong customer service orientation, with extensive experience in effectively addressing, negotiating, and resolving issues as they arise.

  • Ability to respond appropriately and effectively to changing circumstances and priorities.

  • Ability to analyze and integrate information from relevant sources and make appropriate decisions.

  • Proficient in computer-based information systems – Office 2013.
