The Founders Affiliate of the American Heart Association (AHA) Utica, NY office is looking to fill a temporary position as the Director Go Red for Women and Heart Walk in the Utica market. This opportunity will last approximately 3-6 months. The Director will assist staff in implementing the Utica Go Red for Women Luncheon and Heart Walk. The Director assists in managing companies and community teams to raise funds on behalf of their own organizations and other campaigns as needed.

Job Duties:

Include, but are not limited to: (a full job description will be provided if you are selected to interview for this position)

  • Maintain local Go Red for Women Luncheon sponsor communications.

  • Assist the Executive Director in scheduling meetings with local sponsors and follow-up communications.

  • Attend committee meetings as assigned and follow-up on action items under the direction of the Executive Director.

  • Build relationships with key volunteers who can support fundraising initiatives.

  • Recruit assigned Heart Walk Teams

  • Prospect new Heart Walk Teams

  • Recruit and fulfill Wear Red Day Accounts

  • Possess strong selling and negotiation skills.

  • Demonstrated skills in fundraising or successful outside sales.

  • Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication at all organizational levels.

  • Ability to plan and conduct meetings.

  • Ability and willingness to travel as position demands.

  • Must have the ability to lift at least 20 lbs from the ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to work outside standard hours as needed, including occasional evenings and weekends.

  • Ability to use Microsoft products, computer software, run reports and maintain accurate data.

  • Satisfactory background and reference checks upon offer of employment.

Take a look at the experience we require:

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred. College coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree. Related experience may be substituted as follows: 1 ½ years experience equates to 1 full time year of higher education.

Experience: Must have at least 2 years of experience in fundraising, outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity. This experience may also count towards satisfying this position’s educational requirement.
