The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Territory Fundraiser/Youth Market Director in the Greater Washington Region. The territory covers Washington, DC, Prince George County, MD and Alexandria, VA. Please note, the individual must reside in one of these markets.

Under the direction of the Vice President, the Youth Market Director is responsible for implementing the American Heart Association school-based fundraising programs in elementary, middle and high schools throughout their assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Works with school-based coordinators, to raise funds through our school based educational fundraising programs

• Attend and speak at kick-off assembly events at schools holding the fundraisers

• Will act as the American Heart Association liaison with schools in the territory and is responsible for achieving income and school recruitment goals through the management of existing customers, and prospecting and cultivating new school accounts

• Maintain and track all related fundraising data

• Coordinates, plans and implements activities and resources necessary to achieve campaign goals and fundraising objectives in the assigned territory

• Recruit volunteers to develop and manage school-wide events

• Build relationships and provide support to volunteers in each school

• Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout assigned geographical territory including occasional overnight travel.

Qualifications

• Territory management experience

• Ability to set and exceed aggressive dollar goals using his/her skills and abilities in customer relationship management

• Proficiency with MS Office, excellent communication skills, and outstanding time and territory management

• Excellent presentation skills

• Demonstrated ability to accomplish results through strong volunteer recruitment and management

• Ability to plan and work independently

• Highly effective organization, multi-tasking, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to thrive in a results-driven environment

Experience:

• BA or BS degree or equivalent experience

• Minimum 1+ years of work experience, preferably in territory sales or nonprofit fundraising

• Individual must reside in the territory#LI-AS1
