Responsibilities
Wyoming State Director
The American Heart Association is seeking a State Director who will be responsible for the implementation of assigned development projects and fundraising revenue in the state of Wyoming. This position will be responsible for several streams of revenue including, but not limited to youth market, new business and leadership gifts. This position will have a revenue accountability of $400-$625k. The State Director will devise and implement the strategy and direction for the market’s unified health and revenue efforts. This includes building powerful partnerships with volunteer, community, and corporate leaders, sponsors, and other internal and external stakeholders.
Additional duties include:
General fundraising:
Developing and supporting community wide strategies to support the creation of a culture of health in the market.
Support the achievement of the unrestricted field campaign through health asset sponsorships/activations and other means.
Leading the organization efforts to achieve mission and revenue initiatives to improve the cardiovascular health of our community.
Maintaining and tracking all related fundraising data
The State Director will also collaborate on the execution of the statewide efforts in community impact.
Coordinating, planning, and implementing activities and resources necessary to achieve campaign goals and fundraising objectives in the assigned territory.
Youth Market:
Work as the liaison with school-based coordinators (typically PE teachers/school principals/superintendents) to raise funds through the KHC program.
Selling our lifesaving mission to local schools through prospecting and securing school participation while providing tools and training to help schools establish and meet their fundraising goals.
Achieving income and school recruitment goals through the management of existing customers and school accounts, and prospecting and cultivating new school accounts.
Implementing the Kid’s Heart Challenge fundraising program throughout the assigned territory.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
3-5 years successful experience in non-profit fundraising, volunteer management or similar experience
Direct knowledge of special event fundraising tactics is crucial
Ability to travel the Wyoming territory
Solid understanding of how to engage and work with philanthropic communities
Able to lift at least 20lbs from the ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation
