The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a The Associate Portfolio Manager, Social Impact in Dallas, TX (Flexible work arrangement available)
(This is a Full-time Grant funded position. Funding set to end 12/31/2024 but will likely extend)
The Associate Portfolio Manager, Social Impact is responsible for supporting the Impact Investment Group (IIG) Portfolio Managers on sourcing, developing, and providing local program support to the American Heart Association’s Social Impact Funds impact investments, with a focus on the United States. Responsible for prospecting and completing due diligence of new investments, as well as onboarding, facilitation and management of partners; ensuring compliance with American Heart Association’s grant or investment requirements.

Responsibilities
Source and recruit new impact investments, with an emphasis on achieving impact at scale. Screen potential investments and review applications. Provide the fund with mentorship on market conditions and assessments.
Conduct desk diligence (and potentially on-site due diligence) of potential Investments to assess prospects’ financial and social performance, and mission fit with American Heart Association.
Monitor assigned Investments (both remotely and in-person), including repayments, financial performance, and social performance. In collaboration with team members, supervise assigned investments for compliance with fund policies, covenants, and achievements. Support drafting and review of transaction documentation of new Investments with PMs and legal department.
Assist PMs in onboarding newly Invested Partners, act as liaison, communicate American Heart Association policy to these Partners and update American Heart Association stakeholders on new developments and/or issues. Resolve issues faced by the Partners and help source TA support.
Participate in negotiations on Investment terms and conditions with the goal of improving impact at scale. Handle active relationships with other investors/foundations of assigned Investment Partners; seek out co-investment opportunities where possible.
Qualifications
Three (3) years of experience in Financial Analysis, Investment Management, Finance, Economic Development, Portfolio Management, Impact Investing, or related role
Three (3) years of technical experience with financial analysis and investment products (convertible notes, loans, and equity) in programs and/or companies passionate about health and/or social determinants of health.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to tailor communications to a wide broad range of audiences and stakeholders, across multiple cultures.
Ability to network extensively and manage relationships optimally.
Ability to manage time well and prioritize across competing tasks.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and adept at learning and using technology platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Degree or Certificate (such as aCFA) in Business, Finance or related area
Proficient with impact measurement and methodology
Proficient writing and storytelling skills.
Proficient in Tableau and Pitchbook
