We are looking for an extraordinary leader to be the National Executive Lead, Schools and Youth Market to manage the association’s fundraising strategy for our overall school and youth campaign. This leader will manage a team of executive staff to continue to expand our Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge programs in order to gain more market share in elementary, middle and high schools. In addition, this leader will develop a new College strategy for the association as well as expand our youth sponsorship on a national and local level.
The National Executive Lead, Schools and Youth Market is responsible for serving as a key leadership member in developing, executing and evaluating the association’s overarching field business plan to help ensure achievement of the organization’s goals and objectives, with principal responsibility for securely positioning the association for aggressive and sustained growth in unrestricted revenue through our schools programs.
The National Executive Lead, Schools and Youth Market can be based anywhere in the United States with a preference for Dallas, Texas to be at the National Center headquarters.
Ideal candidates will have a passion for fundraising and youth with the ability to anticipate trends and translate futuristic thinking into actionable strategies to drive revenue growth. Senior leadership experience including leading multi-million-dollar campaigns and large teams of diverse staff, will position this leader for success. The ability to motivate and inspire across all levels of the organization will be critical in this high-profile role.
Leads, develops, implements and rolls out a comprehensive plan to grow our school and youth events in revenue and collaborates with colleagues to incorporate and maximize mission impact. Manages the Leaders of our Elementary, Middle School, High School and College programs and works on a cross-functional national team to deliver $100M through the school and youth campaigns.
Provides strategic leadership of one of our largest fundraising campaigns, driving excellence in peer to peer fundraising, sponsorship, volunteer leadership and event and donor experience. This includes developing and executing the field playbook and working directly with the regions to ensure full alignment with and consistent execution of the highest impact priorities. Ensures that region financial goals are achieved, and strategic priorities are aligned with those of the association.
Co-Lead the Superintendent roundtable to drive transformational opportunities to grow fundraising and health/community impact
Directs the creation of innovative new methods around event and donor experiences that are aligned with changes in the philanthropic landscape.
Consults with region fundraising and health impact staff and leaders to ensure strong volunteer leadership is in place to partner in driving revenue and health goals; focus includes superintendents, school administration, teachers, student groups, and parents.
Collaborates with Kids, Community, Advocacy and other Impact initiatives to ensure coordination of efforts and best experience and outcomes for schools, districts, youth, parents, and other stakeholders.
Data and Reporting – Regularly receives and evaluates reports on campaign progress utilizing the campaign management tools and reporting systems available. Takes data and translates into effective actions to address fundraising gaps. Monitors and analyzes external and internal trends and develop benchmarks, best practices, priorities and focus areas for top markets.
Provides formal campaign briefings to senior leadership on an ongoing basis.
Bachelor’s degree or higher
8+ years’ experience in a similar role or in a role leading a multi- million-dollar campaign with year over year growth
Proven record of success in fundraising including peer to peer and corporate sponsorship
Experience in working with schools and/or youth.
Proven record of success in leading cross-functional teams
Skilled in oral and written communications
Ability to get along with all levels of staff
Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
Excellent public speaker
Strong customer service skills
Skilled in planning projects and working against deadlines to provide end product
Skilled in campaign oversight and reporting
Ability to travel overnight up to 30-40%
