American Heart Association National Program Executive, Food Business Solutions in Dallas, Texas

The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a National Program Executive, Food Business Solutions on our Corporate Relations team. The location for this position is remote and flexible.

This role will design strategies, products, teams, and partnerships to develop food business solutions that generate revenue.

Expected pay will be $200,000 to $210,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the process of launching the food business solutions through successive commercial offerings around:

  • Food Research

  • Co-branded or certification offering with partners

  • Food is Medicine service offerings

  • Creates product offering around Food Research – including customers, pricing, and implementation capabilities.

  • Reviews initial list of collaborators for co-branded offerings, conducts diligence and feasibility, and launches

  • Creates and owns short, medium and long-term strategies and business plans.

  • Develops additional products and services that drive mission-aligned revenues.

  • Builds a team to execute on products and services roadmaps – directly or through partnerships with organizations in the food and related industries.

  • Works with Association leaders on key points of alignment across all the Food “assets”, which include:

  • PTFI

  • Food is Medicine

  • Industry Nutrition Forum

  • Food Certification

  • Ensures that the Food Business Solution offerings are always aligned with Association Science, Advocacy, Policy and Programs. Ensures all decisions (including products/ services offered, and partners selected) protect and even enhance the Association's Brand.

  • Works with counterparts in Clinical Research, Patients, and other mission aligned business of the Association to identify and implement cross-functional opportunities, and ensure alignment with corporate relations, Finance and other shared functions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Eight (8) years of the following experience:

  • Business development and/or product development experience.

  • Has started a business from the ground up inside a larger organization.

  • Has strong professional networks with key decision makers in the health insurance and food industries.

  • Has broad understanding of several of the following:

  • Nutrition science & food research

  • Food economics

  • Grocery/ food retail

  • Consumer behavior/ Behavioral economics

Compensation & Benefits
