American Heart Association Development Director in Irving, Texas

We have an opportunity for a Development Director who will lead our Impact campaigns.

The Director will lead Leaders of Impact and Woman of Impact campaigns along with the Shop with Heart program for the Dallas/Fort Worth area. This will include recruiting fundraising volunteers, securing financial contributions in support of our mission, individual donor cultivation, special event implementation and working collaboratively with internal development staff. Position will include local daily travel in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain team revenue targets.

This is a fully remote position in a fast-paced environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission.

Responsibilities

  • Drive peer-to-peer fundraising strategies to achieve overall revenue goals. Secure financial contributions by conducting exploratory meetings and revenue generation-focused sales calls. Appropriately detail scheduled appointments and results.

  • Define and build strong opportunity pipelines by leveraging relationships for each campaign and Shop with Heart card program.

  • Recruit local volunteer network to assist with the implementation and execution of the Shop with Heart card program.

  • Recruit 50+ stores to participate in Shop with Heart card program.

  • Market and solicit sponsorships for Shop with Heart card program with a total goal to raise $500,000.

  • Recruit, engage and recognize high-level volunteers for participation in local, competitive peer to peer fundraising campaigns to raise $250,000+ in the first year.

  • Provide effective orientation, training, and ongoing mentorship for recruited volunteers to increase revenue and volunteer experience.

  • Build powerful partnerships externally and internally.

  • Identify and network with key donors and volunteers. Work collaboratively with volunteers and donors as well as internal staff to broaden the volunteer network and increase mission impact and campaign income.

  • Cultivate donors to increase engagement and giving.

  • Coordinate local donor cultivation events and prospect high-impact donors and volunteers. Lead event logistics - digitally and in-person.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in professional fundraising/development or outside sales, management of special event fundraising, sales, marketing and public relations functions.

  • Experience crafting a start up campaign within a new territory and proven track record of being a self-starter.

  • Demonstrated ability to use interpersonal skills to secure donors and attract, recruit, and lead volunteers and collaborate internally and externally.

  • Proven skills in written and verbal communication, including large and small group presentations, group facilitation and training.

  • Ability to apply good judgment in decision making.

  • Possess problem-solving skills and be solution-oriented.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects.

  • Ability to read, comprehend and analyze number goals.

  • Ability to use social media and other digital channels.

  • Ability to travel within the Dallas/Fort Worth area daily up to 80% and overnight travel up to 10.
