American Heart Association Development Director in Louisville, Kentucky

We are currently hiring for a Development Director in our Louisville office. The Director will work with the Senior Development Director that oversees our Heart Challenge campaign, with a focus on our Heart Walk and Cycle Nation events.

This is a fast paced sales type of position with the main accountability of driving revenue. The position offers a hybrid schedule with the majority of your time working in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and secure local corporate sponsorships and individual donations.

  • Achieve assigned revenue goals by developing and maintaining relationships with corporate and community partners.

  • Drive new business development by soliciting sponsorships and generating participant income through developing year-round business and cultivation plans.

  • Drive peer-to-peer fundraising by supporting corporate partners and team leaders effectively.

  • Recruit and handle executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day of the event volunteers.

  • Develop profiles on the top businesses within the market areas with a documented plan to secure their involvement.

  • Implement event logistics based on national standard processes.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of proven experience preferred; college graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply.

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including large and small group presentations, group facilitation, and training. Skill in written communications to include clear and concise narrative reports, evaluations, and similar narrative pieces.

  • Ability to read, comprehend and analyze number goals, as well as fundraising reports. Skill in use of spreadsheet/database analysis.

  • Ability to do daily travel up to 75% locally.

  • Must have at least basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
