We are looking to fill a Development Director in Miami, FL . This director will coordinate, plan, and implement activities and resources necessary to achieve campaign and community impact goals through our Heart of South Florida campaign. Additionally, their efforts will contribute to the overall revenue goals and objectives of the Greater Miami/Fort Lauderdale market .
Some of your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
Achieving assigned revenue goals by developing and maintaining relationships through our mission based fundraising initiatives.
Driving new business development by soliciting and maintaining high-level corporate and individual donors’ support for our community impact needs and overall campaign revenue goals.
Adopting the AHA’s nationally established methodologies for recruiting, orienting, and managing both C-suite volunteer leadership and individual donors.
Maintaining and growing pipelines of potential sponsors, individual donors, and overall volunteer leadership.
Partnering with community impact, mission advancement, and development staff to achieve all mission impact and fundraising goals.
In this role, you will report to the Executive Director and will work alongside the VP of Development, VP of Health and other market directors to meet the overall revenue and community impact goals for the market. Daily travel within the market is required when it is safe to do so. The ideal candidate will reside within Miami-Dade County.

At least two years of work experience in sales and/or fundraising
Demonstrated success with securing individual gifts tied to mission related impact
Success working in a team environment with shared goals
Knowledge and skills in fundraising or sales principles, practices and techniques, major gift fundraising a plus
Ability and experience recruiting, training, and cultivating top-level donors and volunteers
Excellent listening skills, including verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, negotiating, problem-solving and decision-making
Highly effective organizational skills, time management, responsibility, leadership, motivational approach to both internal and external audiences,
Ability to work outside of standard hours which may involve some evenings and/or weekends
Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout assigned geographical territory
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
