The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Region Business Operations Director located anywhere in our Eastern States region. The position is currently posted in Glen Allen, VA, however the location is flexible .
This is either an office or home-based position which will require occasional travel to events and meetings including overnight travel within the Eastern States region.
Strong reliable home internet is a requirement if home-based.
Must be willing to work outside of standard hours as needed, including occasional weekends in support of events.

Responsibilities
In this role, you will report to the Region Sr. Business Operations Director. You will work closely with fundraisers and coordinators to process vendor contracts, build mass emails adhering to the Association’s branding guidelines while managing other assigned tasks and responsibilities.
Primary duties of the Region Business Operations Director include serving as a liaison with the legal department to process vendor contracts, building mass emails in HTML utilizing event management systems Salesforce and Luminate, scheduling mass emails to be sent to appropriate distribution lists, conducting risk management reviews for special events, coaching and training development staff on best practices for event logistics, and working on special projects as assigned.
Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Use Salesforce and Luminate event management systems to build mass emails in HTML and schedule emails to be sent to distribution lists.
Serve as a region specialist on the social event management system, Event.Gives. Consult with field staff on how to best use the system to conduct successful fundraising events. Areas of expertise include auctions, tickets/tables, bidder numbers, check-in/check-out, email and text blasts, data requirements, venue technology assessments and equipment needs.
Responsible for attending several social events throughout the region to help with set up, execution and tear down.
Conduct special event risk assessment reviews with development staff.
Work as a liaison with legal department to process vendor contracts and ensure proper insurance requirements are met.
Review and compile data submitted on event/alcohol approval forms to present to EVP and AEVP for approval.
Manage and coordinate submission of sponsorship agreements to the Corporate Relations Review Committee by established deadlines.
Source vendors for office related services and special events as needed.
Maintain a high level of customer service by responding to customer inquiries both internally and externally in a knowledgeable and timely manner.
Prepare reports, presentations, instructions, correspondence, and documentation as needed in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as required to support services provided by the Business Operations department.
Work independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects.
Qualifications

University/college degree or experience preferred.
Two (2) years of experience using event management systems or the equivalent.
Experience editing, negotiating, and interpreting vendor contracts.
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Proven ability to respond quickly to changing ideas, responsibilities, expectations, strategies, and other processes at work.
Required Skills:
Proficient in using web conferencing software (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
Excellent skills in PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Excel
Ability to problem solve and be solution oriented.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Strong time management skills
Highly effective communication and customer service skills
Exceptional attention to detail for formatting, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Ability to work outside of standard hours which may involve some evenings and/or weekends.
Ability and willingness to travel periodically throughout assigned markets.
Ability to lift/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting or moving.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Nonprofit experience
Experience in a legal function
Project management experience
Design skills, preferably in Canva or similar design tools
Knowledge of HTML and email marketing basics
Compensation & Benefits
Expected pay range will be $56,300/annually to $75,100/annually. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.
