The American Heart Association (AHA) is looking to fill a paid summer internship position as a Market Research Analyst . The location of this position is flexible within the NJ, NY, CT, MA, RI, NH, VT and ME region. This position is expected to last 2-3 months depending on the needs of the organization. Pay for this position will be $15.00/hour, there are no benefits associated with this internship. There is no guarantee of future employment with the American Heart Association upon completion of this internship.

The primary duty of this position is to gather and analyze market data for assigned market(s).

Job Duties:

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Gather data from a variety of sources such as internet; census data; Bureau of Labor Statistics; competitors; economic trends; market trends; consumer demographics; etc.

  • Data gathering may include outreach within the community.

  • Compile the data

  • Consolidate the data and findings into an understandable written report

  • Prepare report and present results to management.

  • Advanced knowledge and skills with office-related computer programs used for word processing, email, spreadsheets, and internet searches.

  • Experience in researching information and writing reports.

  • Preference given to applicants with courses in statistics, research methods, and/or marketing.

  • Ability and willingness to travel as position demands

  • Satisfactory background checks upon offer of employment

Take a look at the experience we require:

Education: Must have earned a high school diploma or GED and some College courses towards B.A. or B.S. degree. Courses that include business analysis and case studies a plus. Courses in communications and social sciences, such as economics, psychology, and sociology, are also beneficial.

Experience: Experience in conducting research. The experience may be acquired through an office or academic setting.
