The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Development (Fundraising) Director in our Utah Division . The Director, in collaboration with volunteers and staff, plans and implements our social market campaigns including the Heart Ball and the Go Red For Women with a total net revenue goal of $775,000 , generated through a combination of corporate sponsorship and individual patron giving .

Essential Job Duties:

  • Leads and actively participates in the identification, cultivation, solicitation and management of corporate and patron sponsors through year-round cultivation

  • Drives the ongoing process of identifying, recruiting and activating executive leadership volunteer committees in both the corporate and medical communities

  • Provides staff support in planning, development, maintenance, implementation and evaluation of the Heart Ball and Go Red For Women Luncheon according to best practices, benchmarks and timelines to achieve the overall net fundraising goal

  • Conducts active community and B2B networking and outreach through 10+ face to face meetings on weekly basis with donors, volunteers and sponsors

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years successful experience in fundraising, sales or marketing

  • Proven Ability to recruit, train, and manage volunteers to achieve established goals

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, including skill in making presentations to large and small audiences

  • Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends as needed

Here are some of the preferred experience/skills we are looking for:

  • Experience with the American Heart Association or similar non-profit experience in a fundraising position

  • Experience in closing high level corporate sponsorship
