The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Bequest Administrator at our office located in St. Petersburg, FL.

In this role, you will be responsible for estate administration process for bequests from wills, trusts, split-interest agreements, perpetual trusts and other testamentary instruments. Responsible for managing and processing distributions from various estate sources.

Major Responsibilities :

  • Monitors, reviews and processes legal documentation, trust statements and related materials for bequest distribution requirements and restrictions.

  • Maintains and ensures data and donor information is accurate and up-to-date in both electronic database and physical hard file.

  • Communicates and coordinates bequest activities with estate/trust representatives and attorneys. Collaborates with all parties to resolve concerns or issues. Processes receipts for liquidation of estate assets.

  • Maintains accurate records for split-interest trusts and perpetual trusts and provides information for correct financial recording of assets and audit review.


Experience and Qualifications

  • Vocational/Trade Degree in Paralegal or banking/accounting

  • Minimum two years of experience in the related field

  • Experience with estate planning legal documentation and financial instruments

  • Experience with basic accounting principles

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Highly organized and able to work with minimal supervision
