We are looking for an extraordinary leader to be the National Executive Lead, Social Campaigns to guide the flawless execution and delivery of the AHA’s signature social campaigns: Heart Ball and Go Red for Women. These legacy events drive significant mission and revenue impact and give our supporters and donors the opportunity to see, live, and celebrate their investment in our mission.
The National Executive Lead, Social Campaigns is responsible for serving as a key leadership member in developing, executing and evaluating the association’s overarching field business plan to help ensure achievement of the organization’s goals and objectives, with principal responsibility for securely positioning the association for ambitious and sustained growth in unrestricted revenue through our social events.
The National Executive Lead, Social Campaigns can be based anywhere in the United States with a preference for Dallas, Texas at National Center headquarters.
Ideal candidates will have a passion for social events and be able to anticipate trends and translate futurist thinking into actionable strategies to build revenue growth. Experience in leading multi-million-dollar events and markets, as well as major gifts and volunteer development will position this leader for success. The ability to motivate and inspire others in the organization is foundational to this high-profile role.
Serves as the face of the American Heart Association’s best-in-class social campaigns both internally and externally
Leads, develops, implements and rolls out a comprehensive plan to grow our social events in revenue and mission impact. Manages the National Lead for Social Campaigns and works on a cross-functional national team to deliver $160M through Go Red For Women Luncheons and Heart Balls.
Provides strategic leadership of our largest fundraising campaigns, driving excellence in sponsorship, major gifts, volunteer leadership and event and donor experience. This includes developing and executing the field playbook and working directly with the regions to ensure full alignment with and consistent execution of the highest impact priorities. Ensures that region financial goals are achieved, and strategic priorities are aligned with those of the association.
Leads the National Go Red for Women Committee to drive transformational opportunities to grow fundraising and health/community impact.
Directs the creation of innovative new methods around event and donor experiences that are aligned with changes in the philanthropic landscape.
Consults with region fundraising staff and leaders to ensure strong volunteer leadership is in place to partner in growing revenue and championing health goals; focus includes event leadership, boards, ELTs and other key volunteers.
Data and Reporting – Regularly receives and evaluates reports on campaign progress utilizing the campaign management tools and reporting systems available. Takes data and translates into effective actions to address fundraising gaps. Monitors and analyzes external and internal trends and develops benchmarks, standard methodologies, priorities and focus areas for top markets
Works in partnership with Mission Advancement Leadership to ensure alignment across the association to grow individual gifts in the regions.

6+ years’ experience in a similar role or in a role leading a multi- million-dollar campaign with year over year growth, Bachelor's degree a plus
Consistent track record of success in corporate sponsorship, major gifts, and fundraising, and in leading cross-functional teams
Skilled in oral and written communications, especially public speaking
Ability to work well with all levels of staff
Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
Skilled in planning projects, working against deadlines to provide end product, and in campaign oversight and reporting
Ability and willingness to travel overnight up to 30-40%
