Responsible for guiding the translation of business requirements for data across multiple technology and business teams into technical specifications and models upon which solutions may be created. Responsible for patterning the standards and practices for the architecture of application, business intelligence, and data science solutions while balancing both pragmatism and state-of-the-art design. #LI-Remote
Consult with and directly participate in strategic programs and major projects to develop logical data models which support the specific business requirements within the program/project but also align with association-wide data usage. Promote the use of reference architectures which will lead to consistency in data models across the organization.
Work closely with the Enterprise Solution Architects in the early stage solutioning activities with an emphasis on data architecture.
Advance data integration capabilities and consistency across the association. Stay current on integration approaches and work with technology teams to adopt new methods and products that improve integration timeliness, reliability, and operational visibility.
Partner with IT staff to establish Proofs of Concept to adopt new techniques/technologies and to support innovation.
Work closely with the Cybersecurity, Core Infrastructure, and Legal Departments to support data privacy compliance and data security objectives. Assist in the identification and tracking of assets in the enterprise data inventory.
Provide training on emerging topics in data architectures and emerging technologies to others within Business Technology
Assist in the development of Requests for Proposal (RFP) and evaluate received proposals for technical/data approach and merit.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related area.
Ten (10) years of experience transforming complex business requirements into data requirements, architectures, and designs.
Eight (8) years of experience documenting data architectures using proven methodologies and the ability to communicate these designs in both written and verbal communications.
Five (5) years of experience working across multiple technology teams including infrastructure, app dev, cybersecurity, and project management.
Five (5) years of experience working with outside professional service teams in joint design and development activities.
Extensive knowledge of data security and compliance regulations and how they affect data architectures.
Strong presentation and collaboration skills and can communicate all aspects of the job requirements, including the creation of formal documentation.
Ability and skill in communication, influence, and collaboration.
Strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills.
Must be knowledgeable in software development lifecycles/methodologies i.e. Agile.
