The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Field Projects Manager Volunteerism & Community based out of our National Center office!
This position can be remote/home based but must live near a major airport.
This individual will be responsible or planning, coordinating, and leading multi-stakeholder projects. Responsible for partnering with both volunteerism and community health teams to drive collaborative efforts such as scaling of new volunteer or community health efforts, ensuring the completion of cross-sector deliverables, and overseeing the assessment and reporting of success.
Develop implementation plans for Volunteerism projects. Work in partnership with cross-functional teams to ensure organization wide initiatives such as diversity and inclusion, youth and corporate volunteerism engagement initiatives are successful. Collaborate with appropriate internal staff and departments to develop systems and processes for projects assigned. Provide direction to colleagues and conduct research to successfully gather information, complete projects and develop new ideas. Projects may be complex, concurrent and involve multiple stakeholders across the organization
Coordinate and oversee the planning and execution of Community Impact training and related events such as Rally Calls, Monthly onboarding seminars, Clinical Connect Conversations, annual updates, and others as needed. Lead the development and delivery of agendas, resources, and follow-up as needed
Respond to technical assistance requests including via the Community Impact Support Gateway. Identify trends in requests and needs for consistent responses, provide response when available or refer to appropriate person for response. Facilitate development of additional technical assistance and training as needed
Establish and deliver reporting and goal setting plans for Volunteerism projects and strategic initiatives. Create and drive year-round master operation timeline and SOPs based on business plan. Review and post volunteer opportunities on 3rd-party sites to assist teams/markets with targeted recruitment needs. Oversee Heart.org Volunteerism content and metrics for inclusion in monthly headlines, dashboard, and year-end report
Proactively drive the planning, preparation, and deliverables for Region Volunteerism Leads and other Volunteer advisory group meetings. Establish and communicate key dates and deadlines to improve and organize the team. Gather, compile and archive materials and resources, and develop processes and procedures
Compile and distribute reports and internal communications such as the Monthly Health Strategies and Executive Health Strategies report, cataloguing Impact stories, and aggregating/disseminating the monthly Community E-News Update

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Two (2) – Five (5) years of related experience
Experience working in progressively responsible project management roles, preferably within the non-profit setting
Experience with a variety of technologies, including customer relationship management (CRM) applications, databases and other solutions
Experience developing and delivering reporting, communications and training to staff, preferably including web-based technology user training
Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent projects
Strong communications and writing skills, gained from experience developing a range of communications
Advanced skills and strong experience building compelling PowerPoint presentations
Proficient skills in computer applications for advanced document development, spreadsheet development, charts/graphs, simple website design and maintenance (SharePoint), and graphic design concepts
Ability to analyze data and interpret into narrative and visual form
Strong executive presence and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and volunteers
Effective time management and organization skills. Experience working in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Excellent in working against deadlines to provide the end product
Ability to travel up to 5% local and overnight stay
Experience in or knowledge of public health or community health including policy, systems, and environmental change work
Experience developing and managing processes (and process change)
Experience supporting departmental operations
Basic understanding and experience in non-profit fundraising or experience within a fundraising, marketing or sales team
Graphic design experience creating compelling infographics using Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, or other software
Experience coordinating web-based meetings via Skype and Adobe Connect
