Your work will help to inform and inspire support for the mission of the AHA; and will help to ensure AHA staff members are equipped with the knowledge and resources they need to share the AHA's funding opportunities and messages with donors.

Responsibilities

The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for Mission Advancement Funding Opportunities and Training Manager in our Mission Advancement Department!

This position can be remote/home based.

This individual will be responsible for managing the development and execution of Mission Advancement staff training, gift opportunity and other Mission Advancement content resources, and Mission Advancement communications. Responsible for engaging with stakeholders on a wide variety of projects, managing to deadlines, creating/writing materials, preparing communications, templates, reports and plans.

  • Work with leadership and subject matter experts to develop and manage Funding Opportunity resources/materials/templates during the donor engagement cycle (cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship) used to train staff, communicate with donors. Manage resources for Funding Opportunities, ensure that all information and resources for each opportunity and supplemental materials are complete and up-to-date Manage funding opportunity and naming opportunities lists

  • Manage the preparation and execution of trainings and presentations for Mission Advancement, to include staff training on Funding Opportunities, donor ways to give, change management presentations and large meeting presentations such as Town Hall meetings. Schedule, coordinate agenda, manage presenters, presentation decks, resource materials (stakeholders to provide subject matter/ content), conduct walk-throughs with presenters and manage training event

  • Contribute to the management of the Mission Advancement SharePoint site as needed to support the effective and efficient communications of the Mission Advancement department and other stakeholders within the AHA

  • Contribute to and/or independently produce work products for special projects as assigned, as part of the Mission Advancement operations team and the Mission Advancement Marketing and Communications Team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Two (2) – Five (5) years of relevant experience

  • Experience in persuasive writing, including proposal and/or report development with high presentation value (samples will be required)

  • Advanced skills and strong experience building compelling PowerPoint presentations (samples will be required), including a practical application of graphic design concepts

  • Proficient skills in computer applications for advanced document development, spreadsheet development, charts/graphs, simple website design and/or maintenance (SharePoint)

  • Basic understanding and experience in non-profit fundraising or experience supporting a fundraising, marketing or sales team

  • Customer service experience

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Ability to travel up to 5% local and overnight stay

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with development of training materials and presentations
