This approach requires new research models, the leveraging of technology to improve health, greater investments in seeking cures and training the next-generation of researchers.
Over the next five years, the AHA Institute for Precision Cardiovascular Medicine will leverage its five-pronged strategy for advancing precision cardiovascular medicine by:
Convene Thought Leaders : Expanding the community of AHA collaborators to convene the brightest experts from various disciplines— including those not traditionally associated with cardiovascular research.
Build a Transformative Grant Portfolio : Pushing the envelope by providing new, transformative research grants and models to move the speed of science closer to the speed of business.
Enable Data Discoverability/Access Through Technology : Building existing technology to scale, commercializing AHA technology platforms and exploring new product development through key relationships such as Amazon Web Services and other strategic business partners.
Translate Discovery to Real-World Application: Leading the research community by driving greater expectations and measures towards solving for specific problems.
Offer Key Enabling Services and Analytics to Boost Research : Bringing machine learning to bear in accelerating precision cardiovascular medicine while providing opportunities for new AHA products and services.
The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Client Operations Director in our National Center office located in Dallas, TX .
The Client Operations Director is responsible for customer facing operations and commercialization of the Precision Medicine Platform (PMP). Additional responsibilities include establishing requirements and planning process for PMP operations related to post-sales functions, ensuring that systems are in place to manage operations, and developing and implementing market penetration of the My Research Legacy (MRL) platform by building marketing infrastructure, including participating in key purchase decisions and implementation of marketing automation.
Essential Job Duties:
Create scalable on-boarding plan for PMP customers that includes process, communications strategy, and technology. Ensure a positive and efficient customer experience that spans the time-frame between contract signing and getting the PMP work spaces up and running.
Develop the systems and process requirements to support Precision Medicine Platform billing and customer reporting once business model is finalized. Make recommendations for technology to support the requirements.
Develop customer support plan for PMP users, identifying hand-offs between Institute and software development partner; putting processes into place, and developing a communications strategy.
Assist in developing the marketing infrastructure needed for My Research Legacy, to include research, identification and eventual implementation of marketing automation technologies; determination of whether a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool is needed; planning for a digital toolkit to support Affiliate recruitment; and building the necessary reporting infrastructure.
Provide leadership to essential business functions such as intellectual property issues (legal team), human resources management, goods and services contracting, and accounting and financial reporting, including managing expenditures within the approved appropriations and budgets for Institute. Develop and manage budget and vendor contracting.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance or a related field of study.
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience developing and executing general business or sales operations infrastructure for customer management, product management, market and communications strategy.
Eight (8) years of experience in establishing operational procedures, reporting, analytics and financial planning.
Six (6) years of experience managing technology-based product delivery in medical research, hospital, or related industry.
Ability to adapt operational knowledge to cutting-edge research and big-data management tools.
Ability to develop and implement tactical plans for achieving strategic vision.
Ability to create flexible systems and communications to respond to changing customer needs and requirements.
Must be able to travel overnight approx. 25% of the time.
