American Heart Association Program Manager, CPR in Columbus, Ohio

The American Heart Association is hiring for a CPR in Schools Manager in Ohio. The Ohio CPR in Schools Manager will work with Ohio School Districts, in addition to internal and external partners, to teach the next generation of lifesavers how to respond in a cardiac emergency. The CPR in Schools Manager will develop and successfully implement a plan for establishing a train-the-trainer model to teach Ohio high school students how to perform CPR. The American Heart Association’s CPR in Schools program increases the capacity of schools to train high school students with the lifesaving skills of CPR prior to graduation.

This is a one-year grant funded position. Candidates can be located anywhere in the state of Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for building, managing, implementing and sustaining the CPR in Schools training program (train-the-trainer model) for high schools in the state of Ohio.

  • Identifying potential customers/schools and work with those customers to meet their training needs.

  • Responsible for building, managing and sustaining positive relationships with key decision makers/influencers in schools and across school districts and within the American Heart Association.

  • Collaborate and effectively communicate with region leaders, including but not limited to the Region CPR Business Development Manager, Sr. Client Services Manager and the SVP of Health to effectively manage the implementation of the CPR in Schools program, including the delivery of in-person or virtual training; Manager to provide frequent feedback on the program, including sharing successes and key learnings with direct supervisors and Region CPR Business Development Manager.

  • Responsible for providing accurate and timely reporting of outcomes from each training based on the program deliverables.

  • Position will require CPR Instructor level training which will be provided by the American Heart Association.

  • Overnight travel within the State of Ohio is required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in program development, implementation, and management.

  • Experience in developing relationships with community organizations, schools and/or businesses.

  • Strong project management skills; with sensitivity to timeliness.

  • Ability to present key ideas in a succinct and timely manner.

  • Ability to learn and retain product specific information.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Effective communication (oral and written), presentation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Knowledge of CPR and/or sudden cardiac systems of care a plus.

  • Ability to influence team members without supervisory authority.

  • Ability to do daily local travel; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.
