The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Digital Content Producer (Temporary) in our National Center office located in Dallas, Texas .

Notice: As this will be an in-job promotion, only current staff reporting up through Lynn Braggs will be considered for this role. The job application window is expected to close on September 20, 2024

In this role, you will be responsible for producing original programming content creative for audio, video and live production executions in support of internal clients and overarching Integrated Marketing Creative strategies, as well as the strategies that ladder up to it; this includes developing content to engage consumers in our mission across Master Brand and all other facets of the American Heart Association at National Center and in support of our field staff and constituents where needed. Accountable for ensuring that content is properly researched, vetted, approved and in compliance with all internal key stakeholders including, but not limited to, Brand, Communications, Science, Health Equity, Business Technology, Development, and external participants where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, edits and modifies high quality original content for podcasts, web properties, social media, and a variety of digital assets which may include digital magazines, interactive tools, apps, blogs, patient forums and videos; this includes responsibility for suggesting and recruiting pre-approved talent for audio and video features, (e.g., influencers, celebrities, volunteers, medical professionals, business professionals, staff, etc.) Ensures participants, messaging and digital content aligns with organizational priorities, strategies, business unit level strategies and/or internal client and other key stakeholder strategies as appropriate

  • Works in close collaboration and consultation with cross functional staff to ensure accessibility, maximum usage, exposure and shelf life for content, ensures content aligns with adjacent content calendars, digital engagement initiatives, and campaign goals where applicable. This includes building and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, writers, editors, and other digital support professionals (including vendors) engaging in digital content development and online program participation

  • Serves as content expert ensuring rapid translation of science, research, scientific guidelines and statements into consumer accessible language for digital media. Ensures scientific statements are reviewed by Science & Medicine Advisor, volunteer Science reviewers or related approver

  • Develops and/or maintains awareness and competencies of industry knowledge to ensure that the work produced keeps American Heart Association relevant and ensures our ability to engage consumers. Regularly monitors external digital trends and our results against those trends to ensure that we’re a part of the right conversations at the right time to meet people where they are. Performs digital content audits; prepares and presents digital content gap analysis to increase and improve inventory of digital content.

  • Provides content support for proposal development to acquire or renew potential and existing sponsors. Understands, interprets and communicates digital capabilities/limitations to Portfolio teams. Ensures the Association is meeting contractual obligations

  • Administrative activities including, but not limited to expenses, invoice processing, vendor setup, contracts, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Marketing or a related field of study

  • Five (5) plus years of professional audio and/or visual production with expertise in podcasting and video production including writing and story development

  • An understanding of integration strategy between digital assets and social media
