American Heart Association Intern, Women's Health Content Creator-Remote in Dallas, Texas

We have an exciting opportunity for an intern on our Women & Kids Emerging Strategies team. In this role, the intern has opportunities to support content creation, primarily video content, for the Go Red for Women national social media accounts. This content will be part of Go Red for Women’s annual marketing strategy aimed at raising awareness about women’s cardiovascular health and strengthening the movement’s brand equity.

The intern will collaborate with both the Women & Kids Emerging Strategies team and the national Social Media Team to work with existing content (video, photography, text) to shape compelling social media content and help guide the creation of new content (user-generated content from survivors, content aligning with current trends, etc.

The American Heart Association’s Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization.

Internship Overview:

Time Commitment: 20 hours per week

Internship Duration:1/21/25 – 5/2/25

Location: Remote

Salary: $23.00 per hour

Internship Outcomes:

Individuals participating in the internship program are provided with an opportunity to:

  • Complete an internship that enriches your academic and professional resume as well as enriching your personal life by making a difference in the lives of others.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Women & Kids Emerging Strategies and Social Media content creation team to craft and execute compelling vertical video for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and other social media platforms.

  • Monitor results of social media content on key platforms and provide analysis of findings.

  • Source new content ideas and monitor trends on social platforms.

  • Analyze what other organizations and brands are doing on social media and present findings to the broader team.

  • Learn brand standards and ensure video content aligns with the goals and mission of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Candidates who are seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in video production, social media, marketing, or related fields are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience using a cell phone or laptop to capture video footage.

  • Intermediate to excellent proficiency in a video editing platform such as Abode Premiere Pro or iMovie.

  • Knowledge and experience with in-app editing tools on TikTok and Instagram Reels

  • Interested in creating content that resonates with women and helps support their overall health is a plus.

  • Demonstrated excellence in writing and copyediting skills.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities.

  • Proficiency in basic Canva is a plus.

  • Intermediate to excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Required Equipment: Reliable WiFi Connection.

  • Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.
