The Temporary Marketing Research Manager works remotely as part of the Market Research Team within the National Brand Marketing Team of the American Heart Association. They will collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organization to design and deliver exemplary primary and secondary market research, producing insights to inform the most critical decisions in pursuit of our mission. This team member needs to be able to own and manage all aspects of the research process for a project, including internal client engagement, problem identification, appropriate methodological design recommendations, external vendor services sourcing (where required), research tool drafting, data collection fielding/execution, analysis, and synthesis/reporting of insights. They maintain professional expertise in the highest standards of marketing research and tools, with an ability to facilitate strategic conversations and perform in-depth data analysis and visualization, ensuring the insights are delivered with the greatest actionable impact. The research conducted by this team includes audience insights (such as general public, patients, caregivers, donors, volunteers, health care professionals, and more) as well as market landscape research identifying trends and strategic insights for various teams across the organization.
This is a one-year temporary position that commences at hire.
Expected pay range will be $85,000 - $95,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.

Responsibilities
The most successful Market Research Managers have and demonstrate:
Functional knowledge of market/customer research techniques (primary and secondary, quantitative and qualitative methodologies)
Understanding of how market/customer research supports business planning
Proven track record of successfully applying research results to goal setting, business strategies, and influencing key stakeholders across the organization
Proficiency collaborating with internal clients (colleagues and teams) to understand their business needs and identify insights gap
Prior success setting/clarifying objectives and design methodologies, including primary and secondary research
Effective market research design capabilities (e.g., sampling and methodology design, question development)
Skills and experience with budgeting and contracting for study design negotiations
Experience conducting secondary research for market landscape analysis and reporting including surveillance/environmental scans and market/competitor assessments, analyzing the environment to identify strategic opportunities
Capability to conduct research and manage data collection quality standards
Expertise in survey programming and analysis with digital survey tools (e.g., Qualtrics, Microsoft Forms, etc.)
Knowledge and experience with /statistical analysis tools (e.g., MarketSight, SPSS, R, or SAS) to conduct frequencies, correlations, and regressions
Ability to analyze data and translate it into impactive insights, communicating them clearly with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization
Ability to perform in-depth analysis of the data to identify/measure key signals while also developing appropriate data presentation and visualization to effectively communicate the results as a compelling storyteller
Capacity to develop insights, write and review reports with the internal client, and present the resultant insights to stakeholders
Strong relationship-building skills for stakeholder management and the ability to influence executives with a range of competing perspectives and priorities in a highly matrixed environment
Collaboration across departments, providing expert input to elevate marketing research standards
Professional expertise in marketing research trends and industry standards and traditional and innovative methods
Qualifications
Degree or equivalent work experience. Master’s Degree preferred (in fields such as Market Research, marketing, branding, consumer/audience psychology, health communications and research, sociology, psychology, statistics, or related business, communications, or social sciences)
Three (3) years of relevant experience (5 years preferred)
Understand and explain the marketing research process and work in group settings
Conduct marketing research (strategic assessment/need, design methodology, data collection, analysis, reporting, and presentation of results)
Manage marketing research projects from ideation through recommendations based on insights, or even publication of results (e.g., whitepapers or scientific outlets like conferences and scientific journal publications)
Project management of multiple studies at a time; ability to work closely with a market research team
Microsoft Office Core Applications Proficiency (especially PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, and Forms)
Ability to travel up to 5% local and overnight stay
