The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Program Administrator, Health Care Certification Reviews in our Quality, Outcomes Research & Analytics (QORA) department! This position can be home-based.

ResponsibilitiesDesign, continuously evaluate, and audit review workflow methods and processes to maximize certification review efficiencies, including QCT development and enhancements. Maintains the integrity, objectivity, and continuity of the certification process.
Conduct certification reviews determining the applicant’s adherence to the specific program certification criteria. Review process may include conducting Launch Calls; Desk Review; Evaluation of documents and quality data submitted in the QCT; Virtual Review; Plan of Correction resolution; Annual Review (Maintenance of Competency) and re-certification. Renders a decision to grant certification based on assessment of adherence to the standardized requirements. Apply a collaborative partnership approach to evaluation and review based on 3 C’s: Consultation, Coaching and Collaboration allowing for consultative feedback throughout the evaluation process. Coaches the facility with best practice strategies and consulting on solutions for identified gaps.
Supervise review team members including permanent review team staff, contract and review staff.
Oversee the recruitment, engagement, and management of the volunteer Certification Evaluation Workgroups (CEW) for each certification program. The CEW provides direction and feedback to the Review Team regarding recommendations for certification decisions, including appraisals of the Virtual and Desk Review Final Report, proctoring of live Virtual Reviews and identification of trends that may enhance future versions of the Standards Manual.
Supports and partners with internal teams working to create and improve new and current certification programs including the development and revision of standard requirements.
Consults and supports the QORA and National Certification team to solidify leads, develop proposals, and customize the client certification experience.
Ensuring Quality: Ultimately, the reviewer's goal is to ensure the course meets the required quality standards and is ready for certification.
Collaborating with Certification Program Teams and Cross-Functional Teams: Reviewers may work collaboratively with program development teams to address feedback and make necessary improvements.
Providing Feedback: Reviewers offer constructive feedback to the certification programs, outlining areas where the program meets or falls short of the standards.
Detailed Review: Reviewers thoroughly examine the certification requirements, materials, and design to ensure they align with the established standards.
Understanding the Standards: Certification reviewers must be familiar with the standards or rubrics used for the certification program.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Clinical hospital experience with progressive leadership or supervisory experience, including managing multidisciplinary teams
Experience functioning well in a fast-paced, highly stressed, and visible environment
Strong computer skills preferred, including familiarity with databases, graphics, and word processing
Ability to assess educational needs and develop strategies to resolve
Ability to maintain active and current in knowledge of health care trends and content to develop solutions to assist health care organizations to understand and comply with program standards and requirements.
Ability to review methodology employing quality and performance improvement consultative tools
Ability to travel up to 15% locally and including overnight stay
Preferred Experience:
Advanced Degree
Eight (8) – Twelve (12) years of relevant work experience
Experienced with quality improvement and data analysis
Experienced with program development, design, and maintenance
Compensation & Benefits
The expected pay range will be $115,000 to $125,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. The American Heart Association invests in its people.
