Responsibilities

Responsible for overseeing one or more of the Get With The Guidelines, quality improvement registries. Current Opening is for heart failure leadership for our inpatient registry. However, consideration will be given to those with experience in chest pain and coronary artery disease or related expertise.

That oversite includes:

  • Coordination and management of a volunteer advisory group(s) & chairperson(s. Planning, leading, and overseeing monthly meetings with these clinical experts.

  • Development & enhancement of national volunteer relationships while continuing to keep senior level managers informed and updated that continues to streamline effective communication and optimize volunteer management and time.

  • Understanding of issues, highlights, gaps, etc. with core programs.

  • Identification of programmatic opportunities & assurance of collaboration across teams.

  • Serving as the primary resource for the active statements and guidelines that inform each quality registry.

  • Collaboration with the Get With The Guidelines product and information technology team to innovate, develop and expand the registry offerings.

  • Supporting the Measure Development experts that create measures for each targeted guideline.

  • Collaborate with marketing on development of marketing materials and programmatic resources to meet the needs of business development, quality improvement & other staff members.

  • Planning & facilitation of educational offerings, best practices, conference strategies, webinars and awareness month campaigns. Ex. Heart Month Stroke Month, and Afib Month.

  • Understanding of public reporting & identification of similar opportunities to highlight quality care to the public.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Licensed healthcare Professional including NP, PA, RN, or Paramedic required.

  • Five (5) – Eight (8) years of relevant experience minimum.

  • Clinical Program Leadership highly desired.

  • Experience in inpatient, healthcare management, clinical, quality improvement, program development and systems improvement.

  • Project management skills and experience; experience influencing performance without direct line accountability.

  • Basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office used for word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and interact with all levels of American Heart Association staff, volunteers and the public.

  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision.

  • Proven background and willingness to work in an atmosphere requiring flexibility and change.

  • Ability to travel up to 15% local and overnight stay.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Get With The Guidelines registry(ies.

  • Familiarity with quality improvement programs in hospitals.

  • Experience in working with disease specific healthcare certification programs.

  • Professional acumen to lead and drive internal programs & manage high level Volunteer relationships.
