American Heart Association Community Health Coordinator in Houston, Texas

We’re hiring a Community Health Coordinator in Houston, TX. This position will serve as point person for the Vice President of Health Strategies with primary responsibility for all aspects of supporting the Houston Health Strategies team. This includes handling of all scheduling, travel logistics, meeting preparation, and meeting follow-up. In addition, you will be responsible for handling communications, often serving as a key liaison for communication with internal staff and external constituents. The position will involve significant interaction with the Leadership Management Team.

This is an office-based position that offers a hybrid schedule. The office is in Houston,TX.

Responsibilities

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Prepares, edits, and distributes correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and documents.

  • Participates in the planning and execution of programs.

  • Develops, coordinates, and maintains record keeping and filing systems.

  • Coordinates meetings, fundraising events, and stewardship events. This may include sending invites, set-up, coordinating logistics and capturing meeting minutes.

  • Enter, maintain and track large amounts of data.

  • Assists in compiling and analyzing data, making calculations, and preparing reports.

  • May research, compose, design, or edit organization publications such as brochures, forms, and manuals.

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers and partners including healthcare professionals, volunteers, and donors.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

  • 2 years of experience in providing administrative support or similar experience.

  • Bilingual a plus.

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. These skills are subject to testing.

  • Experience in travel planning and expense entry/management preferred.

  • Ability to make decisions quickly and independently with little to no direct supervision.

  • Experience with Dynamics or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems preferred.

  • Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.
